nostalgia part 1

while i was having my regular breakfast at the kopi shop along balestier road, i saw this bike came riding in, onto the pavement walkway, ridden by a indian uncle.

i was kinda stun to se this bike on the street again, it is the 3 pokes rims model, instead of the other yamaha TZE125 with the spokey rim. this model was the much sough after TZR as compared to the spokey rim model.

the engine was quiet, and much of the parts on the bike was pretty stock with OEM exhaust, muffler, tank, side mirror, except the paint job. i keep looking at the bike while seping my kopi-o.

memory start to flow back into my mind, i remember when i just started riding back in 1992, this bike was considered the fastest 2B bike (except yamaha SDR200) which are capable to achieve top speed of 160km/h. it just so happen that one of my classmate was riding one, and i always envy him when both of us was riding back home from Macpherson to jurong, he would always pull away from me when his yamaha YPVS (yamaha power valve system) activated.

my then the honda raider 135cc, was only capable to hit top at 135km/h...

lastly, i'm still amaze to see a well maintained yamaha tzr rooming around the street of singapore, and it should be around more than 20years...
