my trip to the States in 2000

i went to the States alone, to attend the RaceTech seminar conducted by the founder Paul Thede himself, my 2 weeks plus stay in the States was fruitful. beside the theory or lecture session, we have opportunity to go to the famous AMA National motocross track Glen Helen, to do some bike testing.
it was a chilled morning, i take a ride from one of the guys and we had breakfast along the way. i order some ham, sausages, blah blah and also, order a hot coffee as well(as it was a cold weather). but some guys with us, actually order a cold Coke, and they told me, coffee sux. LOL, perhap it is the different culture we had.
anyway, we reach the track in the morning sun already started to rise, RaceTech has 2 bike testers with us, and 2 nos CR125 Honda. and before we start the bike testing session, i roam around the track, looking around for "familiar" faces.
and to my delight, i saw Ty Davis, with his yamaha YZ426F, yamaha bike tester, Doug Dubach, testing the prototype YZ250F, which is still not for sale in the market yet. both of them was riding at a fast pace which lap every other riders on the track.
Dubach even blow up the 250F engine due to the constant high revving of that engine, end up, he got frustrated and switch over to a YZ250 to have some fun. Joel Smeth was that in the morning, i saw his KTM540 on the track, but can;t seem to find him.
while still waiting for the RaceTech rider to gear up, i took the opportunity to pop by Ty Davis truck to chat up with him. asking him about his bike, and he was saying he got his "own" special cam for his 426F. and also, both his 426F fork and shock was revalve by RaceTech as well.
when the RaceTech mechanic went over to Ty asking him some questions, check out how the suspension works, and after that, within minutes, the fork is remove and being revalve again, in the mobile truck that is park next to a shed. less than 15mins, both fork was back onto the bike, and Ty went out for testing again, that was simple professional!
althought this trip was kinda short for me, i hope i will be able to go back to States again to met up with them and they are the good guys.
