Doug is able to stand up on his own now, this photo was capture by one of his fan, showing his determination although the nasty crash has put him down greatly. however, his presence at one of the supermoto track have got all his fans hype up.

my idol, Doug Henry

*** scroll down to look at the crash video below***

Doug Henry is a 3 times AMA motocross champion, first rider to win a title on a four stroke and a top supermoto racer in AMA series. Doug was born in 6th Sept (same as me!) Milford, Conencticut.

He scored a surprise victory in Hangtown National in his early career, and it is a rare victory for a non-factory rider in the championship.

1993 motocross title was the highlight of his career when he signed with factory Honda where he edge out both Jeff Emig and Jeremy Mcgrath to win the championship.

in 1995, he had a "career ending" crash, aboard a Honda CR250 which he crashed on a steep downhill in Buddcreek, he broke his back. Doc told Henry that he will never race again. but they seek a 2nd opinion and after about a year from recovery, he return to the sport.

Henry was named AMA Pro Althete of the year in 1998, when he won the 1998 AMA 250 motocross championship, totally on a unproven machine, YZ400F.

in 2003, Henry was asked to join Team Yamaha supermoto team where he was to race the new YZ450F, and was beginning to win in the supermoto races. and he won more race even when he join Team Troy Lee supermoto team.

and by 2005, Henry was considered to be one of the top supermoto racer by beating the visiting supermoto World Champion, Therry van den Bosch aboard his Graves Yamaha YZ450F.
