Hand Food Mouth Disease
last friday, while sending the kids to child care
my boy suspected to have HFMD, so end up, leave my daughter in school and bring the boy to see doc, and it is confirmed.
symtom of HFMD, red spots on finger (on the palm side finger), and on the foot, both on toes and under the feets, and red spots in the mouth, at the ceiling area. for those red spots on fingers and toes, you can feel it as it is protruding, and when you press it, it will be painful.
and for the mouth, they will have problem eating, because it is painful when they eat. some kids can't even eat, they can only drink, cold water. And if the case is serious, as parent need to becareful, as they could get dehydraded and need to send hospital for drips.
luckily, my boy is not so bad, he and his little sister is back to school today.

Factsheet - 155mm Gun Explosion In New Zealand On 9 Mar 97 Citation - 1SG Teo Boon Hong
1SG TEO BOON HONG 1SG TEO BOON HONG was the Battery Sergeant Major of ‘B’ Battery, 23rd Battalion, SINGAPORE Artillery.
1SG TEO was thrown over the Muzzle Velocity Indicator (MVI) by the blast and landed about 2 metres behind the MVI when the gun exploded.
He turned around and saw that the camouflage net was burnt, the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and the area in front of the ammunition were on fire.
Realising the imminent danger of further explosions, he shouted for everyone to clear away from Gun 4.
About this time, he saw PTE RAMESH staggering out of Gun 4, with his face and hands covered with blood. 1SG TEO went back to the Gun to help PTE RAMESH.
Despite the fires surrounding the areas, 1SG TEO dragged PTE RAMESH by the soldier’s webbing, and pulled him to the Command Post. By then, 1SG TEO’s shirt was on fire.
He was oblivious to the fact that his shirt was on fire until someone alerted him to remove his shirt. The horrifying experience that 1SG TEO had in moving PTE RAMESH away from the Gun area did not deter him from repeating the same act of bravery.
1SG TEO BOON HONG ran back to the Gun area for the second time even though he was without a shirt, subjecting himself once again to danger.
His main concern then was to help another soldier, LCP KOH CHIN WEE, who was badly injured and was choking on his own saliva. 1SG TEO BOON HONG’s acts of bravery in the NEW ZEALAND’s training incident are highly commendable.
His composure in times of crisis, and his actions to get the soldiers to move away from the burning areas, have prevented the loss of more lives.
1SG TEO BOON HONG is presented the SAF MEDAL FOR DISTINGUISHED ACT.
next month is the time to pay our respect to our fallen gunners, it is been 12 years since...

a lousy year
Coming to year end
my daughter have been having fever on and off for past few weeks
today, she just recover from diaherra and vomiting
and today, while we are out bringing the kids during x'mas
my boy vomitted... a few times, so had to rush him back home as it is already quite late
will need to send him to see doc tomorrow morning...
what a way to end 2008...
