Busy, busy
My colleague was handling this project since before I joint the company. And up till today, the project is still on going and not completed, and this has already pisses off the higher management.
So ok, it is none of my problem at all, but when i just knew last week that he is going out station and my boss just pass this whole pile of work to me, just 2 days before he fly off, with out of mis-communication, unhappiness, lack of co-ordination behtween my colleague and his vendors, contractors.
This is not the first time I'm covering his job for him, and now just 1 day before CNY eve, I actually get into this busy pile of work, as the higher management need the schedule on exactly the same day!! Shit, start to pick up the phone and start calling, to vendors, contractors, etc..
Lot of mis-conmmunication was been dig up by me, as my colleague did not actually handle it well, so no choice, just gotta put my head down and dig really deep to get thing moving.
I have told my boss, I can cover the job, no issue, but not all this last minute thingy, as it could kill me! I can't always perform magic!
Luckily, I manage to confirm all those dats and arrange the work to be carry out just after CNY.
What a day to spend before CNY..

My lunch date
It was a busy monday again, when all the food outlet would be packed as usual during lunch hour. And today, I decided to go to my favourite kopi shop where it is easy to find a seating, especially I'm alone lunching.
Bought a bowl of noodle and start eating, sat down at 1 corner of a long table, it should be nice and quiet without any other stranger should be come sitting next to you.
Just when i'm concentrating and about to finish my noodle, a "thud" sound pop up right infront of me, I lift my head and saw a old man, age about 70 years old, putting down something heavy from his shoulder, and mumbling: " it's so heavy", and the thud sound was from his rice plate, placing right infront of me.
And before he sat down, he went to get a glass of plain water and came back sitting down. At first I was rather pissed off with his action and the loud noise, but when I saw this old gentleman, I was kind of thinking I should just be reminded of my own EQ and keep my smily face, as he indeed, look like the kind of respectable old man who have fought hard for what Singapore have become today.
He started to converse with me in cantonese, which I'm not very good at it, however, I do understand what he is talking about, thus I nod my head to show the attention and respect I can give to this old gentleman.
After a while, I decided to get myself a hot drink (the usual fav kopi-o) from the counter, so I ask him in my broken cantonese if he would like a cuppa hot drink. He ask if I'm buying him, I say yes, no worry. So he wanted a kopi-o as well, and I ordered and paid over the counter waiting to be served.
We are talking like some good friends, though he talk more than me, as I can't really talk well in cantonese, but i still look into his eyes and nod my head, once awhile try to speak alittle cantonese.
I asked him about when he is "resting" for CNY, he said no, he would still be working still, but taking a break in between as he need money for his legs, which the medical fee set him back about $9k+, and he showed me his darkend foot, which I can't really understand what is the cause of it. And his son who is a taxi driver, didn't really earn much to help, so he need to continue to work. I just advice him to rest his leg more often.
When we leave the table, I wish him good luck and take care, while he try to lift up the canvas bag with the heavy stuff inside it.
A tough old man I would say, never get defeated by the life. I don't feel sorry for him, with man like his age, he still push on as I watch his back view walking slowly away, I salute to you. uncle.

Can't stand it, office politic
This particular shit have haunt since last friday, as a manager from other department have been trying to get me, to do their work.
But it seem like, the complaint you wrote to the boss, doesn't work, and even to his boss.
And this particular manager even engage her particular department head and try to "thumb" me down, pressing me to do their work. Also asking me to ensure the figure I provided must be accurate, when I'm a total layman to their trade, not to mentioned this is a more of a specialist kind of work.
I do not understand what does this particular woman trying to proof? But from my 6th sense, I reckon she have been stabbing behind my back!! And I think my analytical skill is accurate.
And man, I feel damn shitty again, when that manager's head called me this morning again, and then follow by a "threatening" email, getting me to do their work.
........ all the stupid politic.....

Raising of fatality of motorcyclist
Within this couples of month, the news reporting of the motorcyclist fatality is on the high.
I do not really know what is the real cause of it, but one reason could be the heavy traffic, the amount of vehicles commuting on the road.
It is really sad, be it the rider, pillion or passeger in car, are reported "killed" in the accident.
From my observation, about 16years ago, when I just started riding on the road, the traffic on the road is not as heavy as compared to now. Even when I start to drive 2 years later after gotten my driving license, traffic condition is still quite ok.
Nowaday, commuting on the road is like pasing through war zone, and we have to be very careful when threading through all this.
It is always glad when you reach home daily.

A Shitty day
Recently, it seem like a bad streak of luck is being with me.
Just work wise, is already more than enough to bear.
Own work already need to have constant monitoring and lotsa following up work to do, and now, kana arrow by the management to help other department to do their work!
The managment keep saying "work together, help each other" but it seem like, my only 2 staff in this department, is helping another department with 5 staff!!
What the heck is the problem with that!! Perhap that manager of that department is a better PR person, and it seem like my complaint to the boss didn't reflect anything or the boss don't even at least show some concern by asking me.
DaMN!!!
